CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

2025 International Conference on Philosophy of Computing

Following the success of our Symposia on Philosophy of Computing (2023, 2024) — the first events of their kind in Latin America, bringing together researchers, industry professionals, and participants from diverse backgrounds — the Philosophy of Computing Research Group at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is proud to announce the International Conference on Philosophy of Computing.

This five-day academic event is dedicated to advancing cutting-edge research at the intersection of computation and philosophy — a dialogue that has never been more urgent. In a time marked by rapid technological transformation, ethical challenges in AI, and the growing impact of computational systems on every aspect of society, there is a pressing need for spaces of critical reflection and rigorous debate.

As computation reshapes our institutions, economies, modes of inquiry, and even our understanding of knowledge and existence, this conference seeks to foster deep interdisciplinary engagement with the philosophical implications and responsibilities of life in the digital age.

We invite abstract submissions on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Theory of Computation, Formal Languages, Logic, and Foundational Mathematics
  • Biocomputation, Biomathematics, and Artificial Life
  • Physical and Non-Conventional Computation
  • The Uncomputable in Other Disciplines
  • Cybernetic Culture and Technopolitical Studies
  • Frontier Artificial Intelligence, Neurosymbolic AI, and Computational Linguistics
  • Computational and Non-Computational Cognitive Science
  • Gender, Politics, and Society in Computing
  • Ethical Issues in and of Computing
  • Aesthetic Issues in and of Computing
  • Philosophy of Science and Mathematics in the Era of Computing Machinery
  • Ontological, Epistemological, Metaphysical, and Axiological Issues in Computing
  • Computational Philosophy
  • Social Networks and Digital Communication
  • Philosophy of Interaction Design
  • Philosophy of Computing and Computer Science
